Since they were called away,
So many things to share with them
had they been left to stay.
And now on this reunion day,
Memories do come our way.
Though absent, they are ever near,
still missed, remembered,
always dear.

R.I.P. - we are not immortal
ReplyDeleteJust found this website and discovered my good friend, Mark Barton, from USMC San Diego boot camp in 1968 passed away in '95 at age 47 from heart disease. Just want to say he was a great friend during those years and I am sad to hear he died so young. We had many memorable times in boot camp. Both of us were reserve enlistees during the height of Viet Nam, so we avoided combat. On weekends during training, we would drive in his classic VW bug to his Long Beach home where his mom and dad would host us with home cooked meals and great fun. If any of his family reads this, please contact me at rdgrimm45@att.net. I would love to just touch base. Thank you. Randy Grimm
